With the new government takes the leadership, Myanmar, a country with a population of more than 50 million, is now embarking on a brand-new journey to prosperity. As the last frontier of Asian development, Myanmar is in dire need of power to drive its economic growth. Currently, Myanmar only has about 4.5 GW installed capacity of power, and mostly from hydro. The government has set its target to realize a 100 % electrification by 2030, meaning 40 power plants are to be built to meet the skyrocketing demand.
Against this background, the PSEA 2016 is going to bring 200 senior decision makers from across the region to debate the most concerned topics in power and energy industry and work out practical ways to tackle the nation's power plight.
