ENR Mountain States is pleased to announce the winners of our 2011 Best Projects competition. Judges selected more than 60 winners (30 from the Intermountain region and 31 from the Colorado area) from Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska and North and South Dakota.

Judges selected a Best Project winner in each category, along with a Merit winner in some categories. The winning projects, along with the names of the firms that submitted them, will be profiled in the October issue of ENR Mountain States.

Judging was done by two groups of industry experts representing both the contracting and design sides of the industry. One group of judges represented the Intermountain half of the region (Utah, Idaho and Montana) and one looked at projects from Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas. Judges ranked all projects according to a common scale and voted for a Best Overall Project in both areas, which are also noted below.

Here are this year’s winning projects, listed in two separate groups. “Best Project” winners (first place) in each category are listed first, with the Merit winner or winners (in the case of a tie), listed next—in cases where judges thought Merit Awards were appropriate.

The Intermountain winners list is first. Scroll down further to see the list of winners from Colorado, Wyoming and the Plains states.
