The editors of the former Mountain States Construction magazine are pleased to announce the launch of the first issue of its successor, ENR Mountain States, coming at the end of February. The new bimonthly regional section will run as part of Engineering News-Record. The January/February issue will contain renovation and rehab project features from across the Rocky Mountain region, plus project, people and event news, and a new feature, called “City Scoop,” which analyzes market trends and growth in key municipalities, beginning with Salt Lake City. The Jan/Feb issue will hit the streets February 28.

Other key elements of the inaugural issue of ENR Mountain States are our annual Top 20 Under 40 list, with profiles of some of the region’s top young talent, and a look at “Six Companies to Watch,” highlighting firms that are making their mark on the industry.

Our list of six firms includes Balfour Beatty, for its impact on the Eagle P3 FasTracks team in Colorado and its leading role in building the $1.2-billion National Cyber Security Center in Utah; Flatiron Construction, which has a healthy portfolio of current highway projects under way in both Utah and Colorado; Weston Solutions Inc., for developing and building the first transit-oriented development along the FasTracks West Corridor light rail line; Milender White Construction and E Light Electric Services Inc., for their successful market diversifications; and Rowland + Broughton Architecture and Urban Design, for finding creative solutions to some difficult design challenges.

Our new magazine format opens the doors further to our readers, encouraging your submissions of dramatic project photos, comments on current issues and trends and calendar events. We hope to build upon our solid web presence in the region and achieve a reader-friendly and inclusive publication that will keep you informed on key regional happenings. As always, we welcome your feedback on any and all content we publish.

If you have subscription questions about ENR, please call 1-877-876-8208. You can receive a one-year, half-price subscription to ENR, which includes ENR Mountain States, by mentioning promotion code PEN0DRCP when you call.

Thanks for reading and supporting our first issue of this exciting new venture.
