The May/June issue of ENR New England will feature a story about the ENR New England Design Firm of the Year.

We are pleased to announce that this year's Design Firm of the Year is Stantec.

The Design Firm of the Year demonstrates success in the region from a growth and revenue standpoint as well as innovation, creativity and a commitment to giving back to its community.

One of the most notable projects Stantec completed last year was a set of markers honoring the victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing

The firm is also working on the Dry Dock Modernization at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine and the Boston Logan International Airport Terminal C Roadways project. Another large project that the firm is currently working on is The BEAT, a repositioning of a three-story office and industrial building on the 16.6-acre former Boston Globe headquarters.

Stantec is also the program manager for the Narragansett Bay Commission’s Phase III Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) control program that includes the deep rock “Pawtucket Tunnel”, a smaller connecting “Stub Tunnel”, a tunnel dewatering pump station, and interceptor relief facilities.

The Edmonton, Alberta-based has 35 licensed architects and 231 licensed engineers working across 14 New England offices. The firm ranked No. 3 in the 2019 and 2018 ENR New England Top Design Firm rankings with $160.20 million and $120.78 in revenue respectively. The firm attributes its regional growth to a continued focus "on account management and client relationships." Additionally, the firm says it has "effectively and efficiently delivered its global expertise through local project teams and client managers to expand service offering" to long-time New England clients.

During the firm’s worldwide week of community service every September, Stantec's New England's offices connect with local communities. The firm's New England offices supported more than 80 organizations of all sizes and missions during the last year, including the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl. The even is the nation’s largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival. Volunteers from the firm’s Boston offices help scoop ice cream during the event.

Stantec will be featured in the May/June issue of ENR New England along with the top-ranked design firms in the region, which includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
