Most readers of Southeast Construction are well aware of the various ways in which the magazine recognizes the achievements of the region's A/E/C community. There's our annual "Top" lists, "Best Of" competition and our selection of "Contractor of the Year" and "Owner of the Year." In most of these, it's either firms (or governmental entities) and projects that are highlighted. Now we're initiating a way of highlighting the accomplishments of outstanding individuals.

The editors at McGraw-Hill Construction want your help to identify the future leaders of the Southeast A/E/C industry and those who currently excel in their careers. We are calling on you to tell us who you consider the best and brightest of the many rising stars in the industry.

Here’s the process: McGraw-Hill Construction's Regional Publications, including Southeast Construction, are now accepting nominations for the "Top 20 Under 40." Specifically, this refers to current -- or future -- industry leaders who will be under the age of 40 as of Oct. 29, the deadline for this new competition. The winners will appear in an early 2011 edition of the magazine.

Through this process, we're asking our readers to tell us about the people under age 40 that you think are the most promising and outstanding leaders of the Southeast's construction and design communities. Nominees can work in either the construction, engineering or architecture fields, and must be located in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina.

Nominating is easy. Just click here to get started submitting information about the future leader you have in mind. Maybe it's someone who works for your company. Or a leader in an association you belong to. Or someone your firm worked with on a recent project.

No matter how you may know them, we ask that you start by filling out our nomination form and let us know who they are. All submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel of industry experts who will ultimately select the Top 20.

Remember, the deadline to nominate is Oct. 29, so don’t delay. Let us know who you feel are the brightest and best young professional achievers in the Southeast.
