The year that has passed has brought about some of the momentum that the industry has lacked over recent years: Just in time for this year's installment of the ENR Southwest Top Starts ranking. This list includes the largest construction projects in the Southwest that began during the proceeding calendar year. And, although it is created by way of research that culls information from a variety of sources including McGraw Hill Construction's Dodge network and good old-fashioned reporting, the most important source is information from those at-work on these projects.

We are releasing this preliminary listing based upon the best information that has been provided but the final list will not be posted until other release of our next print edition in early March. So if anyone in the industry sees any projects we might have missed, please let us know.

The information we need about the project includes: Name of project as it should appear in print; location; cost; start and completion dates; owner or developer, contractor and architect and engineer as well as their office locations. Send that information directly to me at john.guzzon@mhfi.com

There are some obvious projects that will make the list such as the SLS Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., and the Marina Heights project along Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, Ariz. But there may be other diamonds in our rough that we have missed while trudging through the research.
