Coming soon to ENR California’s June issue is our annual Top Design Firms ranking, when we will rank the largest design firms by revenue in a variety of categories, from green projects to MEP engineering to interior design.
Along with the rankings, we also spotlight one architect or engineer as our Design Firm of the Year based on a variety of factors, including sustainability, community involvement and quality of work.
As voted on by the ENR regional editors across the U.S., ENR California’s 2013 Design Firm of the Year is: Arup!
The worldwide engineering and architecture firm performs over $90 million of work from its Los Angeles and San Francisco locations. The company really stands out with its expertise in and commitment to sustainability, with the vast majority of its 2012 revenue coming from projects pursuing some type of green certification.
The firm is also working on some of the state’s highest profile projects, including lead design on the Gerald Desmond Bridge, a variety of engineering services for the Transbay Transit Center and MEP design for the Broad Museum and several highly sustainable hospitals.
