Coming soon in ENR Southwest’s May issue is the annual Top Design Firms ranking. Along with the charts showing the largest firms by revenue, we also select one architect or engineer as our Design Firm of the Year based on a variety of factors, including sustainability, community involvement and quality of work.

As voted on by the ENR regional editors across the U.S., ENR Southwest’s 2013 Design Firm of the Year is: Dekker/Perich/Sabatini!

Based in Albuquerque-N.M., the company was formed in 1998 in the merger of two firms, one founded back in 1959. D/P/S performs a wide spectrum of roles on its projects: architectural design, landscape architecture, interior design, structural engineering and more. The firm has been a leader in sustainability for many years, with 23 LEED-certified projects and 17 more in the pipeline. This includes the firm’s own offices in Albuquerque, which received two Gold certifications. D/P/S is also our first Design Firm of the Year honoree to be selected from New Mexico.

The firm saw a healthy 2012, growing its revenue by more than a third over the previous year. The firm currently has a large slate of healthcare, education and commercial projects under construction or beginning in 2013, as well.
