Following the successful launch earlier this month of Engineering News-Record's first regional edition, ENR Southeast, the editorial, art and publishing team at ENR Texas & Louisiana is working to bring you our premiere edition, which will offer local data and trend analysis from McGraw-Hill Construction's project news network. This will be featured in the form of a news department we call "City Scoop" in each of the six annual issues. Up first is San Antonio for Texas; and Baton Rouge for Louisiana in the first print edition of ENR Texas & Louisiana. It will publish as an added edition to ENR on February 14.

It will have a layout similar to the cover image, below. As well, for the convenience of all, editorial features for the seven regional editions will strive for standardization.

Our project profile, or "Digging Deeper" focus, will bring you inside the Texas Capitol renovation/restoration project.

Our "Six Firms To Watch" feature will profile the following:

1) Satterfield&Pontikes; 2) Orion Marine Group; 3) Jaster-Quintanilla; 4) University Health System of San Antonio; 5) Gideon Toal; 6) Waldemar S. Nelson and Co.

Also to be featured are the 20 Under 40 individuals selected by an independent jury in late 2010.

As well, we encourage readers to submit people, projects and events photos and news to our reader-submitted photo galleries, and to comment on our blogs. Our editors will select content such as photos and comments to highlight in this and future issues.

We are excited to bring you what Keith Fox, president, McGraw-Hill Construction, describes as "high-quality information and perspectives that are so valued from the ENR brand. . . with a local flavor."

Thank you for your continued interest in McGraw-Hill Construction and ENR Texas & Louisiana. We welcome and encourage your feedback, and of course, news items and tips from both sides of the Sabine River.
