ENR Texas & Louisiana has recognized Baton Rouge-based ISC Constructors as its 2015 Specialty Contractor of the Year.

The electrical subcontractor saw a strong 2014, with regional revenues propelling upward by about $55 million over 2013 figures. This is thanks to the plentiful refining and chemical industry expansions taking place throughout the Gulf Coast region, in Louisiana in particular.

ISC was able to capitalize on that industry growth, having been preparing for Gulf Coast expansion over the past few years with workforce development and training efforts, plus the recent opening of a new office in Lake Charles.

As far as safety, ISC’s teams clocked a total of 5.59 million man hours in 2014, achieving a TRIR of 0.07 and an EMR of 0.36.

Some of the firm’s recent projects the Air Products GE Healthcare Helium Liquefaction Facility, Dyno Nobel Site Temporary Power System, Marathon Major Crude and Platformer Turnaround, and the Rubicon MDI-1 Re-Instrumentation and DCS Upgrade, all completed during 2014.

Beyond the jobsite, ISC and its associates have contributed to more than 80 charitable organizations over the past year, in the form of monetary donations and the giving of time and personal caring in various capacities – education, medical research, health and well-being.

So far this year, ISC has earned three ABC Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards and one ABC Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award from ABC National, and a first place in Division III of the Hard Craft Specialty Trade Category for demonstrating safety excellence without injury Contractor Safety Excellence Award from the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance. The firm will also be honored as one of the 2015 LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses for the third time this October.
