My friend, Steve, declared that he dislikes pumpkins.  It’s a problem because we are in the season of pumpkin spice everything.  Trader Joes, a boutique food store, mailed a circular in which every item was about pumpkins. It wasn’t just vegetables or even coffee, but also cheesecake, shampoo (pumpkin spice shampoo) and deodorant.  Maybe pumpkin spice deodorant isn’t such a great idea.  It’s not like Axe body spray, where the selling point is achieving extreme popularity with potential mates.  With pumpkin spice deodorant, you’re looking at the possibility of extreme popularity with raccoons.

Although I will not be trying pumpkin spice deodorant, the truth is that I like all other things associated with pumpkins.  I like the taste, the seeds, the jack o-lanterns, everything.  Pumpkins are great.  Pumpkin spice lattes are great, even if they cost a tad more than five dollars a cup for a medium.  More than five dollars for a cup for coffee is extravagant and ridiculous.  But it’s pumpkin, so it’s OK.

I was wondering that if this time of year, bridges got into the act.  I was not disappointed.  High Bridge Coffee offers a wide and welcoming array of pumpkin products, including beans, snacks and latte’s.  The shop is in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, which is a place where probably all the children are is above average.  In addition to beverages, you can buy packages of coffee that have pictures of a pumpkin and an historic truss bridge.  How great is that!
