Last month, I announced the 23 winners of ENR’s 6th annual Global Best Projects competition in a variety of categories, ranging from Rail to Health Care. Since then, the industry judges and ENR editors have examined all the winners and determined three finalists for the Global Project of the Year. The project selected as this year’s overall winner represents the pinnacle of design and construction quality, innovations, safety performance, community benefit and overcoming challenges – with a special emphasis on the diversity of global project teams and their collaboration.

  • Turkmenbashi International Seaport Project, located in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. Submitted by GAP İNŞAAT A.Ş. (winning project in the Airport/Port category)

  • Sydney Metro Northwest SVC Contract, located in Sydney, Australia. Submitted by Salini Impregilo (winning project in the Rail category)

  • Lusail Expressway, located in Doha, Qatar. Submitted by KBR Government Services (winning project in the Road/Highway category)

The winning Project of the Year, plus all 23 of the selected category winners announced here, will be spotlighted in more detail in the Oct. 1 issue of ENR, along with the judges. All the winning projects will also be celebrated – and you are invited to meet and mingle with the teams! - at the awards dinner on Oct. 2 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.. Visit www.globalbestprojects.com for more info about the dinner. Hope to see you there!
