Los Angeles-based CO Architects, a firm known for delivering intriguing, award-winning building designs, is this year’s California Design Firm of the Year. Recognition of CO’s design efforts have come from numerous parties, including several recent regional and national Best Projects awards from Engineering News-Record. In all, CO reports that the firm has been honored with 25 national design awards over the past five years, and 125 in total over the same time period.

In last year’s ENR California Best Projects competition, CO Architects’ design work for the California Institute of Technology’s Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies was recognized via that project’s Best Projects award in the Small Project category. Another of the firm’s projects, the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building at the University of Arizona in Phoenix, was recognized via ENR’s 2017 Best Of The Best Projects awards in the higher education/research category.

The firm also provided architecture, interior design and programming services for California State Polytechnic University’s recently completed Student Services Building in Pomona, pictured above.

ENR California will provide readers with more information about CO Architects—along with our annual Top Design Firms ranking—in its May 27 print edition.
