The May 30/June 4 edition of ENR California will feature the top-ranked design firms based on 2015 revenue. Many firms continued to reap large year-over-year revenue gains due to California’s red-hot construction market. One of the firms appearing in the ranking is chosen as Design Firm of the Year.

Specializing in water supply and treatment during a time that California is experiencing a historic drought has certainly helped the bottom line for Carollo Engineers. But the firm has also excelled due to its commitment to combating climate change and the award-winning designs it has produced. For these reasons and more, Carollo Engineers has been selected as ENR California’s 2016 Design Firm of the Year.

Major projects include the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District’s $114-million nitrifying sidestream treatment facility, $350-million tertiary treatment facility, and RAS pumping system – part of the overall $2-billion EchoWater project. The firm also recently partnered with L.A. on the “One Water LA 2040” plan to coordinate water management between city departments, residents, businesses and other stakeholders.
