The June 10 issue of ENR California will feature the annual ranking of Top Design Firms. Preliminary analysis shows that architects and engineers in California show no signs of slowing down. In fact, design work continues to heat up and points to continued strength for future construction starts in the state.

In last year’s ranking, 109 firms reported a total of $3.65 billion in revenue from work performed during 2013. This year’s ranking, which looks at 2014 revenue, includes fewer respondents—98—but even among a smaller pool, their cumulative revenue topped $4.04 billion, an increase of more than 10% over the previous year. Some individual firms saw even more dramatic increases in revenue, which we will delve into more in the June issue.

Thank you to the firms listed below (in alphabetical order) that participated in this year’s survey. In the June edition, you will find breakout charts which will rank each firm based on specialty—such as civil engineer or architect—as well as market sectors, including health care, commercial, power and transportation.

Also, one firm will be selected as ENR California's Design Firm of the Year, based on revenue, innovation, sustainability, community service and other factors.

Please note that we may not have space in the print magazine to rank all 98 firms, but as always we will feature the full rankings on our website shortly after publication.
