Nearly 300 of the region’s top construction professionals attended ENR MidAtlantic’s annual Best Regional Project Awards lunch on Nov. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Thirty-two awards were handed out at the event that honored project teams from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

ENR’s Regional Best Project Awards are a series of special events across the country to celebrate and honor project teams that created the "best" regional projects of 2018. The projects are selected by juries of local prominent industry professionals. The winning projects will automatically compete in ENR’s national Best of the Best Projects competition. Those winners will be recognized at an awards event in March in New York City.

The MidAtlantic region received 83 entries this year in categories ranging from Airport/Transit to K-12 Education.

The four organizations that were recognized in the pages of ENR MidAtlantic throughout 2018 as our firms of the year were also recognized. Those organizations include: Owner of the Year: The Delaware Dept. of Transportation; Design Firm of the Year: ECS Mid-Atlantic; Contractor of the Year: W.M. Jordan Co. and Specialty Contractor of the Year: Southern Air.

This year’s Legacy Award winner is David Raymond, who retired in July as president and chief executive of the American Council of Engineering Companies. Raymond was introduced by ACEC’s former COO, Mary Ann Emely.

The MidAtlantic Project of the Year award was the final awarded handed out at the event. This year’s Project of the Year is the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

Submissions for the 2019 Regional Best Project awards will be accepted in April. We look forward to seeing your submissions!
