Kathy J. Caldwell, president of Caldwell Cook & Associates, a Gainesville, Fla., design firm, will become president of The American Society of Civil Engineers, Reston, Va., on Oct. 22. She is an adjunct engineering professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Caldwell was president of JEA Construction Engineering Services Inc. and vice president of its parent, Jones Edmunds & Associates Inc. She is only the second woman to lead the 144,000-person civil engineers group, founded in 1852.
The Shaw Group, Baton Rouge, La., has promoted Jeff Jenkins to chief operating officer of its environmental and infrastructure group, one of its largest units. Formerly president of the group’s commercial state and local division, he joined Shaw in 2003. Jenkins is replaced by Vahid Ownjazayeri, who is elevated from senior vice president of the division’s northeast-central region and national director of transportation. He had been national market-segment executive for transportation at AECOM.
