Gorman & Co., working in partnership with Laradon Hall, celebrated the opening of the Stella, a mixed-use community on March 16. The Stella is a 132-unit affordable housing development in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood, serving families and individuals earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income. Completion of the project allows for expansion of social services and helps to address housing affordability in a neighborhood that’s seeing rapid changes in real estate values and land uses. Laradon Hall offers supportive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from its Globeville Campus, where the firm moved in 1950.
Denver’s Regional Transportation District has selected HDR Engineering to study the feasibility of peak-service rail between Denver Union Station and Longmont, Colo. The two-year study aims to provide updated cost estimates for service to northwestern metro communities, including Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder and Longmont. The plan will examine the use of RTD’s existing B Line commuter rail alignment, along with the possibility of leasing BNSF Railway rights-of-way and tracks to extend service during peak commuting hours from Westminster Station 35.3 miles north to Boulder and Longmont.
