Zinc Nacional is considering constructing a zinc oxide plant at its Waelz oxide production site in Millport, Alabama or Logansport, Indiana. The project scope includes design and construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of conveyors, storage bins/silos, and melting, vaporization, oxidation, conditioning, blending and dust collection equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce 10,000 tons per year of French process and custom-made zinc oxides using zinc from the company’s electric arc furnace dust recycling facility in Logansport as feedstock. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2022. The estimated EPC cost is $75 million. Zinc Nacional, Serafin Pena 938 Sur, Centro, Monterrey NL 64000, Mexico. IR#AL211007.
