The DC Dept. of Transportation is planning to start the H Street NE Bridge Replacement project in November. The $225-million design-build project known as the Hopscotch Bridge carries H Street over the railroad tracks behind Union Station. In order to make room for trains to pass below, the bridge rises high above H Street’s normal elevation. The new bridge, designed specifically to accommodate buildings on either side, will make it possible to develop the air rights above Union Station’s rail yard and replace the parking garage with a new train hall. CH2M Hill International Services Inc. is the engineer. DC Dept. of Transportation, Attn: Joyce Timmons, 55 M St. SE, Ste. 400, Washington, D.C., 20003-3537. DR#201600469739v18.
