Kimco Realty is planning to redevelop the Christown Spectrum Mall in Phoenix into a mixed-use project. Portions of the 98-acre mall will be demolished and it will be converted into offices, apartments, retail, entertainment and hotel uses, with a public plaza, making much of the space open air. The planned additions, which will fill much of the existing parking lot, will add 2.98 million sq ft, bringing the total square footage of the development to 3.63 million. In all, the full build-out plans call for 2,066 apartment units, 300 hotel rooms, 46,000 sq ft of entertainment and 280,000 sq ft of office space. It is being designed by Streetsense.
