Construction is complete on the Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman, Ariz. The four-story, 66,000-sq-ft building, built by Arizona’s Johnson Carlier, is located east of the existing courthouse, which was built in 1915. The buildings are connected by an enclosed corridor, thus preserving the history of the old courthouse and making it part of a new complex that will offer improved security and state-of-the-art technology that will allow victims to view court proceedings in a secure area.
Crews began work on the $20-million facility in 2019. More than 1 million lb of structural steel and more than 128,000 lb of metal deck were used in construction. Other notable highlights include nearly 28,000 pieces of main structural members and parts, with nearly 35,000 linear ft of material.
