Southeast City Scoop: Greenville, S.C., Construction Starts
K.J. Jacobs Principal McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture
As elsewhere, Greenville’s construction economy has slowed in 2020 due to the pandemic, with the pipeline for hospitality, office and restaurant/retail projects having “temporarily slowed,” says Jacobs. Nevertheless, “There continue to be pockets of success in each of these sectors locally [as] local and regional developers continue to look for long-term opportunities.” Overall, he predicts: “The volatility caused by the pandemic roller coaster and presidential election will settle in mid-2021, and we will all get focused again on growth.”
