Colorado The University of Colorado is planning to construct a 23,500-sq-ft subterranean addition of new physics lab spaces beneath the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics building on its Boulder campus. The project also includes the renovation of 20,000 sq ft of existing office space within the JILA A-wing tower and upgrades to the auditorium and selected office spaces within the B- and S-wings. Connecticut The National Coast Guard Museum Association is planning to build the National Coast Guard Museum on a 2.7-acre site at the intersection of State Street and Water Street in New London. The five-story, 80,000-sq-ft building will contain exhibit space, a gift shop, a restaurant, an IMAX theater, classrooms, an auditorium and offices. In addition, the project includes a pedestrian bridge from the Water Street garage to the museum. Payette Associates Inc. has been selected as the architect, and A/Z Corp. has been chosen as the construction manager. The project is valued at $100 million.
