With few exceptions, Orlando’s construction economy is “extremely hot with significant activity in most market sectors,” says Ferris, with Orlando International Airport driving plenty of work. Additionally, he notes, “Disney and Universal have been extremely active the last several years with new theme parks [and] associated hotels.” The one not-so-bright spot relates to the state’s reduced funding for the public higher education system. “There is still work, but it is not remotely as hot as other markets,” he says.
