Indiana DAK Americas LLC is planning to expand its recycled polyethylene terephthalate resins (rPET) plant in Richmond. The project scope includes upfit of a prefabricated metal building expansion, and purchase and installation of material handling and supporting equipment. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020. DAK Americas, a unit of Mexico-based Alpek Polyester, acquired the plant from Perpetual Recycling Solutions in February 2019 and uses it to convert waste PET bottles into rPET for reuse in manufacturing new bottles. Oregon Blount Fine Foods Corp. is planning to establish a soup production facility at the 80,000-sq-ft former Harry’s Fresh Foods building in Portland. The project scope includes purchase and installation of conveying, mixing, blending, cooking, filling and packaging equipment. Blount Fine Foods produces soups, side dishes and sauces.
