Connecticut Energy Innovation Park, LLC and Thunderbird CHP LLC are planning to redevelop four buildings of the former Stanley Black & Decker factory in New Britain into a 20MW fuel-celled microgrid and data center. The microgrid will be powered by 44 fuel cells in a 45,000-sq-ft building. Phase 2 will convert an adjacent building into a 44MW data center, Phase 3 involves turning another building into another 44MW facility, and Phase 4 aims to create an innovation and technology center in a new building. Maine Nordic Aquafarms, Inc. is planning on building a fish farm in Belfast. The land-based salmon farm will occupy a 40-acre site and will produce between 25,000 and 30,000 tons of salmon per year. The project will entail drilling deep groundwater wells and installing mile-long discharge pipes into the bay. The project is valued at $150 million.
