Southwest Pulse: Construction Projects In Planning, Bidding, Construction Phases
New Mexico
The U.S Bureau of Reclamation is in the planning phase for the $230-million San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant near Fruitland. The plant will be an element of the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project, a regional plan to convey a reliable municipal and industrial water supply from the San Juan River to the eastern section of the Navajo Nation, the southwestern portion of the Jicarilla Apache Nation and the city of Gallup. The various users will be served by way of approximately 300 miles of pipeline, several pumping plants and two water treatment plants. The U.S Bureau of Reclamation is targeting a design-build procurement strategy in conformance with the two-step process identified in Federal Acquisitions Regulations.
