Indiana Waelz Sustainable Products is planning to construct a steel mill by-products recycling facility on a 30-acre site at the former BorgWarner campus in Muncie. The two-phase project scope includes design and construction of building space and a Waelz kiln; and purchase and installation of dust collection and compressed air systems, conveyors and blending and pelletizing equipment. The facility will have the capacity to process 100,000 tons of electric-arc-furnace dust per year to produce zinc oxide. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2019.
