Alabama The Alabama Dept. of Transportation is planning to widen and resurface Jack Warner Parkway/Martin Luther King Blvd. in Tuscaloosa, from State Route 13 (Lurleen Wallace Blvd.) to Sixth Street. Connecticut The City of New Haven is planning to rehabilitate the Grand Avenue Bridge, a swing bridge which crosses the Quinnipiac River. The project will include new bridge abutments, approach spans, electrical and mechanical systems and rehabilitation of the swing span. It will also entail installing an “exodermic” deck, repositioning and re-pointing the historic masonry foundations, and blast cleaning and repainting the structural steel. The bridge was erected in 1898. The project has been designed by Hardesty & Hanover LLP. The project is valued at $25 million.
