Northwest People: Construction business updates for November 2018
Goran Sparrman has joined HNTB Corp. as business development officer and vice president. Based in HNTB’s Bellevue, Wash., office, Sparrman brings more than three decades of private- and public-sector experience to the firm. Most recently, he was interim director for the Seattle Dept. of Transportation. Sparrman also worked for the city of Bellevue as director of transportation as well as for the cities of Portland, Ore., and Sacramento, Calif. Sparrman holds the equivalent of both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Kris Agers has joined HNTB as sales manager in Bellevue for the firm’s Northwest district. She has 25 years of experience in architecture and engineering services. Most recently, Agers served as operations manager at a consulting firm. Prior to that, she served as vice president at an engineering company. Agers earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Utah State University before earning an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Seth Ely has been named senior lighting designer in Stantec’s Seattle office. He has more than 18 years of experience in lighting design. At his previous firm, he worked on such projects as the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles and multiple projects at UCLA and USC. Ely comes to Stantec from a lighting design position in Los Angeles. He has a BFA from the University of Washington and an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania.
