Arizona The Flood Control District of Maricopa County is planning to implement the Agua Fria Watercourse master plan in Maricopa County, which will extend 32 miles from Indian School Road to the Central Arizona Project siphon crossing. The channelization alternative will create a 1,200-ft-wide corridor that will incorporate a flood channel, a mid-terrace floodplain and a 100-ft-wide landscape buffer on either side. The corridor will provide a continuous riverway for water conveyance as well as providing multiuse opportunities for trails, parks and open-space recreation. The entire channelized section will provide protection from a 100-year flood. Harrington Planning + Design is providing consulting engineering services. The project is valued between $115 million and $148 million. Flood Control District of Maricopa County, Attn: John Hathaway, Contract Specialist, 2801 W. Durango S., Phoenix, 85009. DR#10-00601916.
