SCT&E LNG and G2 LNG LLC are planning construction of the Monkey Island LNG Processing Export Facility & Port, with an export capacity of 14 million metric tons of LNG a year. Magnolia LNG is planning the firm’s new LNG export facility. The project will sit on a 108-acre lease at the Port of Lake Charles and produce 4 million metric tons of LNG per year. FERC approval came in January 2016. Final EPC contracts are in negotiation with Magnolia LNG and the contractor joint venture of KBR and SKE&C USA. Construction is anticipated to start on all four trains in 2016, with planned start-up in mid-2018. The project is valued at $3.5 billion.
