The Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority has received letters of interest from firms vying to provide construction engineering and inspection services for the Elevated Selmon Expressway West Extension Improvements project, located within the Gandy Boulevard (U.S. 92) corridor. The extension will run from the Gandy Bridge to the western terminal of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, near the intersection of Dale Mabry Highway and Gandy Boulevard in Tampa. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is in the midst of a two-step design-bid-build bidding process for an Army Cyber Command Headquarters facility planned for Fort Gordon. The agency’s solicitation for the project, estimated at up to $250 million, calls for construction of a non-standard Command and Control Facility to accommodate the Army Cybezr Command/Joint Forces Headquarters. Construction will include redundant mechanical and electrical systems with generator and uninterruptible power supply to critical areas, secure organizational vehicle parking and loading/service areas. Step 1 solicitation was released in early February and closed in early March. Step 2 solicitation is to be released on or about May 27, with closing on June 27.
