Connecticut General Growth Properties is planning to develop the SoNo Collection Regional Shopping Center, in Norwalk. Illinois Carle Foundation Hospital is planning to expand the Carle-Curtis Road Clinic, in Champaign. Tennessee The Weitz Co., a design-build firm, has started constructing a 325,000-sq-ft addition to a stamping facility on a 59-acre site, in Chattanooga. At the plant, Gestamp, a Spanish supplier to Volkswagen, currently produces parts for the Passat automobile. The project’s value has been estimated at between $25 million and $50 million. Texas Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC—a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy Inc., which is planning to build a liquefied-natural-gas export terminal on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay—has awarded a contract to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. The contract covers dredging and slope protection of two LNG carrier-ship berths, dredging of a materials-offloading and tug-mooring basin, and expansion of the existing La Quinta Channel turning basin. Rhode Island 1/13/16 The City of Woonsocket is seeking bidders to design, build, operate and maintain a new water treatment plant. The project encompasses the permitting, design, construction, start-up and acceptance testing of a new raw-water pump station, a new raw-water transmission main and a new water treatment plant, which will have an initial capacity of 7 million gallons a day, expandable to 10.5 mgd. Following start-up, acceptance testing and final regulatory approvals, additional work will include the decommissioning and partial demolition of the existing Charles G. Hammann Memorial Water Treatment Plant. The contract also will cover operations and maintenance of the new water treatment plant for 20 years. The project has been valued at $35 million.
