New York The Red Apple Group is planning to build the Ocean Dreams residential development in the Coney Island neighborhood in Brooklyn. Pennsylvania Property Reserve Inc., the commercial real estate arm of the Mormon church, is planning to build a residential tower at 1601 Vine St. in Philadelphia. The 32-story, 400,000-sq-ft building will contain 258 market-rate apartments, 13 townhouses and 12,000 sq ft of retail space. Kansas The Weitz Co. has started building Mission 106, a residential project in Mission Farms, a mixed-use community that straddles the line between Leawood and Overland Park. Totaling 211,000 sq ft, the project includes two four-story apartment buildings, comprising 132 apartments overall, and seven townhouses. The job is valued at between $15 million and $25 million. Massachusetts Tocci Building Cos. has started constructing the Lynnfield Initiatives for Elders (LIFE) development in Lynnfield. Oklahoma The City of Oklahoma City is planning to rehabilitate the 84-year-old Santa Fe Train Depot. TAP Architecture is the designer. The project will entail designing a new intermodal transportation hub for the city's new streetcar system, Amtrak passenger rail service, downtown bus transit center, a new Oklahoma City Boulevard and a bike-share program. Texas M&G Chemicals has awarded a $1-billion engineering, procurement and construction contract to Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co. Ltd. to build a polyethylene terephthalate-purified terephthalic acid plant in Corpus Christi. The plant will produce 600,000 metric tonnes of PET and 864,000 metric tonnes of PTA, making it the largest single-line PET and PTA plant in the world. The owner plans to use its own forces.
