Arizona Pioneer Associates is planning to build the Winslow Wood Mill in Winslow. The project entails constructing a wood-processing complex that will consist of 12 buildings totaling 1,050,000 sq ft. The project includes building a small log sawmill and 20 dry kilns for the production of pine lumber that is to be finger-jointed, edge-glued and otherwise engineered into door products, window frames and furniture components. Pioneer Associates also is serving as the general contractor. Construction is expected to start in January 2013. The project has been valued at $250 million. Florida A joint venture of Lynd Development Partners, LNR Property LLC and BlackRock Realty Advisors affiliates has awarded a $65-milllion contract to Plaza Construction to build EnV at Mary Brickell Village, a residential high-rise in Miami. The project entails constructing a 390-unit, 35-story, 800,000-sq-ft building at 999 S.W. First Ave. Construction is expected to start this month and be completed in 2014. Massachusetts A joint venture of AREA Property Partners and Commonwealth Ventures has selected Suffolk Construction as the construction manager for the One Channel Center project in Boston. The project entails constructing an 11-story, 525,000-sq-ft office building and a 10-level, 950-car aboveground parking garage. The job also includes two open-space areas: the 72,000-sq-ft New Park and the 9,000-sq-ft Iron Street Park. Suffolk is partnering with architect ADD Inc. for the office portion of the project and with Spalding Tougias Architects for the parking garage. State Street Corp. will be the sole tenant. New York The New York Power Authority has awarded Atlas Painting & Sheeting Corp. a $10-million contract for the Barnhart Island Bridge rehabilitation project in Massena. The project entails the painting and refurbishing of the bridge, including surface preparation and painting, abrasive blasting, containment and disposal of lead-containing paint, the replacement of runway rail, the refurbishment of the existing maintenance trolley and drainage system improvements. Oregon The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded an $18.6-million firm-fixed-price contract to Natt McDougal Co. to construct a trap-and-haul-type fish facility to collect, hold, transport and spawn adult salmon and steelhead. The project includes making modifications and connections to the existing Foster Dam and Reservoir Adult Fish Facility in Foster. The project also entails excavation, transportation and disposal of excess soils, large concrete placements, mechanical piping and machinery construction, and installing electrical power and control systems. Texas David Weekley Homes has started construction of the Grand Cay Harbour subdivision on a 277-acre site in Texas City.
