Full Senate action is next for Edwin G. Foulke Jr., President Bush’s pick to be assistant Labor secretary in charge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee approved Foulke on March 8. Chairman Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) calls Foulke “an excellent candidate.” But AFL-CIO Safety and Health Director Peg Seminario says, “I don’t think that [Foulke is] necessarily going to provide much leadership on safety and health issues.”
