FIATECH will host a workshop Nov. 13-15 to analyze homeland security implications for construction and to launch a technology research and development master plan for the capital projects market.

FIATECH is an industry-led, non-profit consortium focused on fast-track development and deployment of technologies to improve how capital projects and facilities are designed, engineered, built and maintained.

The workshop will bring together technical and management professionals from the capital-projects market, state and federal agencies and academia to fine-tune and launch the "Capital Projects Technology Road Map," which has been in development for the past year.

Objectives are to ensure the plan addresses homeland security issues, to strengthen its focus on economic development and to launch the implementation itself.

The event is being held at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Va. Details are at www.fiatech.org.
