Congress: House Bill Calls for Infrastructure Commission
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) has proposed legislation to set up a national infrastructure commission. His bill, introduced on May 7, directs the panel to issue a report that “articulates a national vision for infrastructure investments.” It would draw on previous studies. Blumenauer’s bill had 21 co-sponsors as of May 9. Sen. Thomas Carper (D-Del.) introduced a similar infrastructure-panel bill last August. It has eight co-sponsors.
