The estate of the 31–year–old man that died when a tower crane at a Bellevue, Wash., construction site fell into his apartment on Nov. 16, 2006, is suing the general contractor and structural engineer on the project for unspecified damages. The suit was filed on Oct. 4 in King County Superior Court. General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis and structural engineer Magnusson Klemencic Associates, both of Seattle, were cited and fined by the state of Washington, after the agency investigated the accident. Both companies are appealing the decision. “We have worked diligently with the other companies associated with the crane and its installation to determine responsibility,” says Bill Lewis, LCL president.
