London's 2012 Olympic Games organizer is to negotiate a design-build contract for the main, 80,000-seat stadium with the only group eligible to bid. The Olympic Delivery Authority has "robust contingency plans" in case negotiations fail, claims Chief Executive David Higgins. The chosen consortium is led by the U.K.'s Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd., with architect HOK Sport.
