President Bush on July 21 nominated Robert W. Johnson, a 21-year Bureau of Reclamation official, to be its new commissioner. Since 1995, Johnson has led the bureau�s Lower Colorado Region, which oversees Hoover Dam and other facilities. If confirmed, Johnson would succeed John W. Keys III, who retired in April after five years in the top slot. Deputy Commissioner William E. Rinne is serving as acting chief.
