The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has turned down an appeal by five construction groups to withdraw its voluntary ergonomics consensus standard for the industry.
Matt Esterbrook, an associate with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, the law firm representing the construction groups, says ANSI’s March 14 decision was “not unexpected” and did not address the groups’ main argument, which is “that there wasn’t a true consensus.”
