Florida Contractor Melds CEMEX, Rinker in Big Pour
A monolithic pour by WELBRO Building Corp. placed 8,900 yards of 7,000 psi concrete in 10–12 hours Aug. 11 for a mat foundation on which the new Hilton Orlando Hotel at the Orange County Convention Center will be built.
The Maintland, Fla.–based company conducted 15 planning meetings in the four months leading to the pour that began at 2 a.m. and ended at 12:30 p.m.
