Home » Williamson County Toll Road 5-Mi Extension Starts
Construction started on the 5-mi, northern extension of the 183A toll road in Williamson County, north of Austin. The project is being paid for through sale of toll revenue bonds to be repaid over the next 30 years.
The $105-million 183A Northern Extension will be a limited-access toll road with three lanes in each direction. It will be constructed in the median of existing frontage roads. Frontage roads will remain non-tolled. Starting seven years earlier than originally planned, the project is expected to open by 2012.
