Best of New Mexico: Bloomfield Fire Department Headquarters
Submitted by Rohde May Keller McNamara Architecture, PC
Emphasizing both modernity and permanence, the innovative Bloomfield Fire Department seamlessly integrates into the community it serves. Beautiful natural vistas and a wealth of cultural and historical riches surround the building, which features a weathered steel plate building envelope that will oxidize over time, further accenting the aesthetic artistry and functionality of the construction. The weathered steel wall utilizes a high content of recycled material and minimized waste by incorporating uncut mill sized sheets.
