$400-Million I-4/Selmon Connector Moves Ahead With Stimulus Funds
In January, the Florida Dept. of Transportation announced that construction was set to begin on the $400-million Interstate-4/Selmon Expressway Connector project in Tampa, an elevated interchange project that will link I-4 and the Selmon Expressway and provide dedicated truck lanes.
Adam Perez, FDOT District 7 project manager, said the Connector is the largest construction contract that FDOT District 7 has ever advertised for bidding. The project was kick-started by approximately $100 million in stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
