Gold: Mesa State College Maverick CenterSubmitted by Adolfson & Peterson Construction Renovation and expansion of the Saunders Field House, renamed the Maverick Center, was intended to create a landmark for Mesa State College by relating to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape while creating a state-of-art facility for students and the community.
The project scope included construction of 16 new classrooms for the school’s nursing, kinesiology and other health-related departments; athletic spaces, including a 50-meter natatorium, softball and football fields and locker rooms; 125,000 sq ft of renovations and a 20,000-sq-ft addition.
