DELAWARE Jacobs Engineering Group has been awarded a contract by the Delaware Dept. of Transportation to provide design services for a three-mile section of a four-lane limited access roadway that will bypass U.S. Rte. 301 in New Castle County. The project also calls for design of bridges and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). As part of Delaware DOT’s $704-million U.S. Rte. 301 Roadway Project involving 17.5 miles of new and reconstructed roadway, the construction value of this contract is $70 million. FLORIDA Falcone Development Group Inc. has received approval from the Miami City Commission to develop the Miami World Center, a nine-block, 25-acre redevelopment project located north of the Central Business District bounded by N.E. Second Ave., N. Miami Ave., N.E. 11th St. and N.E. 6th St. in Miami. ARKANSAS The City of Fort Smith awarded two contracts totaling over $46 million to Branco Enterprises for phases one and two of its wastewater treatment plant expansion project. The combined wet-weather improvement projects include a new sewage lift station with stormwater flow treatment, a new influent pump station, chlorine contact basins, chemical feed and sludge treatment revisions, UV treatment additions, expansion of the odor control facilities and more. GEORGIA A $35.8-million contract was awarded to Tug Hill Construction by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for construction of a digital multipurpose range complex at Fort Stewart. The project includes stationary infantry and armor targets, moving infantry targets, a power center, helicopter hover points, camera towers, training facades and live fire village, as well as site improvements. LOUISIANA SGT LLC, a joint venture between URS Washington Division and AREVA NP Inc., has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $120 million by Entergy Operations Inc. to provide project-management, engineering and construction services for the replacement of two steam generators and a reactor vessel head at its Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station. MISSISSIPPI M.J. Harris is working on a $37-million patient tower addition for the River Oaks Hospital in Jackson. The project includes 150,000 sq ft of new space to accommodate an additional 81 beds, a neonatal intensive care unit, an OB-GYN unit, medical-surgical unit, and a central energy plant.
